A long time ago ........"le Perche" was a huge forest lying on the hills between the Seine and the Loire rivers. Julius Caesar , in "de Bello Gallico", reports that every year at the same time, druids would gather in this forest, at a location supposed to be the center of the Gaul province , to pick mistletoe and hold courts of justice. |
It is therefore not too far- fetched to assume that Caesar may have known an untamable village at the center of the Gaul province and at the heart of "le Perche", a village which is now referred to as Saint-Germain-des-Grois. |
